Cycling Hub comes to Kilmallock
Kilmallock Association
of Trade and Commerce welcome adventure seekers to our Historical
Town. Whether your thing is Mountain Biking, Cycling, Walking, Clay
Pigeon Shooting, Canoeing or even Paragliding we will look after
your needs on your way to or coming home.
Perhaps you are wondering what all the cycling signs
that are going up around the town are for? Kilmallock has been appointed
as a Cycling Hub by Failte Ireland and will and will be home to
further major cycling routes.
Route 1 - 70 Kilometres,
5½ Hours
1A- 22 Kilometres, 1 Hour
Description: Cycling on the perimeter of the Ballyhoura
Mountains
Route 2 - 83 Kilometres,
5½ Hours
2A- 16 Kilometres, 1 Hour
2B- 41 Kilometres, 3 Hours
2C- 64 Kilometres, 4 Hours +
Description: East to the Glen of Aherlow
Route 3 - 62 Kilometres,
4 Hours
Description: Leisurely spin to Lough Gur
Route 4 - 70 Kilometres,
3 hours +
Description: Glenroe and Castle Oliver
The signage is due to be completed
shortly. Failte Ireland will then cycle and map the different routes,
and then we should be ready for the launch! A big cycling event
is planned to co-inside with the opening of this major part of the
Adventure hub, which all of the west of Ireland have been designated.
This cycling event is kindly being organised by the very active
Kilmallock
Cycling Club
